Light Station

Based on its trajectory in the affirmation of a language, Mazzoni has already traversed many paths and, in the last four years, has directed his research to the expression of light.

Curious and iconoclast with relation to technique, Chico utilizes themes like mere pretext so that light reveals itself in its thousand possibilities. Essentially figurative, he plays with the ambiguous game of fusion between figure and fund. Giving continuity to the line of work initiated in the last exhibit – “For this light which enlightens me” (95) -, Mazzoni makes a more contained use of colors and forms and privilege the richness of textures.

Chico Mazzoni has been affirming himself as one of the most promising Brazilian artists.”
